From the Wichita Eagle: Brownback, Kansas lawmakers prepare for more veto fights

Gov. Sam Brownback has used his veto power this session to block lawmakers from rolling back his signature income tax cuts and to prevent the state from expanding Medicaid through the Affordable Care Act.Rep. John Carmichael, a Wichita Democrat, compared the situation to “a high-stakes poker game.” If lawmakers call his bluff and override a veto, Brownback will have “no more chips to play,” Carmichael said.
